what have you boys been up to? ill try to give a reccap of my shitty life over the past two weeks

* had a final interview at that company i mentioned earlier. They told us we would find out the next day. the next day came and i got a call saying i didn't get the position. weirdly enough my friend was also at the final interview (there were 3 grads) and my mate didn't get the position either. no idea if they other guy got it coz apparently there was one more coming in the arvo.

* have just been chilling at home playing rainbow six siege (which i maintain is literally the best game i have EVER played in my life) its like mixing cod with battlefield and adding 100% realism to it (low number of bullets to kill, 1 shot head shots on every weapon etc) have been having so much fun with it

* I've hooked up with a few grills nothing serious though just some fun. siobhan has a new boyfriend lmao that was quick, hoes be hoes i guess

* my car got its 36,000km service yesterday which was cool

* wollongong is filthy hot still and i look forward to winter

* going to surfers paradise for 5 or so days at the end of this month with a mate for some theme park funnies and attractions

alls going allright with me at the moment! starting to get pretty tired of work, getting no pay is really sapping my motivation to put in any effort at this point, especially considering i am now on my final 3 weeks of the work experience. Works become pretty standard, i'm now very much used to giving orders, chasing up deliveries, managing whats going on at the site etc etc and i know all of the contractors now, so i'm no longer building my communication skills as we all know each other and can joke around/talk smack about the company together.

don't think i have mentioned my plans on the forum, but am planning to finish this up and work part time to save some money over the year and will hopefully (if all goes well) snag a job at the snow fields in niseko (japan) where i'll stay for 3 months. I've bought books and have started teaching myself japanese which could be handy over there especially considering i want to travel to some of the not so popular tourist spots  (plus it seems like a good skill to have). When you obtain a working holiday visa you are allowed to stay in the country for up to a year i believe, so i intend to make the most of it and travel around japan after for another month to 6 months, really haven't decided yet, feel as if i just want to get over there and see what happens

Back at work, years been busy as fuck, new staff, work still having only 1 IT guy when we're pushing 5 offices now. Good pay for me but highly stressful at times

Mainly been smashing out Final Fantasy 14, the MMO bug is back in full swing for me, might get the division but been hearing a bit of negativity about it so idk

sorry muri, i'm not too good with cover letters and all that so i don't think i could offer a whole heap of advice outside maybe some grammatical things.

1. things such as writing "i "am" very excited to apply" instead of "i was"

2. where you have said "as a technically minded and analytic graduate i believe that a position at dental axess is best suited to me". it doesn't particulary read well at the end, almost gives off the impression you are talking about how the job would be good for you "is best suited to me". Instead you should write something along the lines of saying how you feel your skillset could prove beneficial to them.

3. My involvement within the project allowed me to enhance not only my teamworking skills, but also my ability to multitask and adapt to changing and fast paced environments.

My english has never been a strong point of mine, and my suggestions could just be a matter of taste. However, if you haven't yet submitted this application and want me to go through and make changes to what i see, i can do it tomorrow after work.

EDIT: also use the word formatting so the text is stretched out to form a neat block of text. (you can see how the left hand side of the page has a nice straight line of text and the right ends vary). looks a bit messy at the moment

what have you boys been up to recently?

finished my work experience so said to myself i would slum it for 2 weeks then start looking for some of that part time work.

Go in for my aussie citizenship test on the 21st so will do that, wait till my ceremony, get my passport then straight away apply for my Japanese working visa. I think at this point i am just going to fly over at the start of the snow season around the 20th of november and stay in a backpackers (or just somewhere cheap) for 2 weeks whilst i go door knocking asking for work. Apparently that is what a lot of people do so we'll see if it works out, i'm still hoping the people at the lodge i stayed at will take me in but i've got to prepare for the situation in which they don't.

If I end up being unlucky and don't find something in that 2 weeks i'll go do my japanese travels early and maybe find an english teaching job somewhere then fly back and catch the tail end of the ski season in march on whatever slopes i can.
