In need of entertainment.

Well I am aout of work for an indefinite amount of time and am in need of entertainment, e.g. books, games, movies etc.

I have watched around 20 movies, read 6 books and platinumed a couple of games over the last 2 weeks and also tried just drinking all day everyday but that got expensive and messy......... very messy.

So recommendations please.


Oh and no PC games, as I don't have a computer (Only a couple of shitty work laptops that can barely run 'Minesweeper' & 'Hearts'.)

nah pokers good fun really, but RL poker is so much better! i used to do a bit of a circuit of the pub games a few years ago, good fun! online is BS, it takes reading a player out of the game! but then again i only played a few times online...

I used to play APL poker at pubs 5-6 nights a week. Then after getting good, i used to hit up the casino when i could afford it. After that i would play online poker and be playing 4 tables at once, and go for 4-5 hours a day. That lasted a few months. Then uni needed more time.

Meanwhile, my housemate quit his job to do poker fulltime. Hes making over $1000 a week cash. He casually pays for flights down to melbourne, just for the weekend to play poker. He came back and i asked him for the $15 he owes me. He pulls out his bankroll, which has $8500!! he's walking around with that in his pocket man.

Our other mate from poker has been doing it as a career for about 2 years. We watch him online play in huge tournaments. He won an $11,000 tourny the other week. Chip bully in the final three, it was huge. We have a few mates doing it as a career online. all about 21-27yo.

Me and Scotty can tell you all the %'s off the top of our head, just like you see on tv. We are down

I initially didn't believe that online stuff was profitable until I watched one of my mates finish 3rd/4th at the final table at one of those tournaments (Pokerstars maybe?). He ended up collecting US$40,000 for his troubles! Now he frequents Vegas and the like.

Not for me though, I get bored and end up going all in to try and speed things up.
