| cbf picking out everything for you lol but i got a guy to custom build mine. so i'm not sure what to suggest but defs get a custom one built/ build it yourself (bit tricky)
i spent 1500$ on the rig, $500 on the screen, $150 on extra harddrive (1.7TB in total) and $100 on mouse and keyboard and mine is pretty decent not the best but. i would probs want a slightly faster processeser and defs an upgraded graphics card.
but anyways. my specs are...(included items in $1500 rig)
2x320GB harddrives 7200 RPM, 16MB CACHE, SATA II 3GB/S INTEL CORE 2 QUAD 2.40GHZ processor with GA-EP43-DS3R motherboard/chipset 4gb ram, unsure of the speeds cause i got a free upgrade, but 1200+ MHZ i recommend you get windows 7, i heard it's pretty awesome also got basic optical drive/ dvd burner. and my case is THERMALTAKE ARMOR JNR 550W.
hmm that's a general idea of specs. and my computer runs great, i can play pc cod fine although i need to get a much better graphics card i've got a shit one atm, so you';; have to look into what one to buy. and yeh can have photoshop and sony vegas and a ton of windows on the net open with no lag or anything.
but yeh get a quad core fo'sho. look at about 2.4ghz+. I reckon 3 would be nice if you could get it. any harddrive of 7200rpm. seagate/western digital are good brands. good graphics card (look up on it) 4 gb ram, (don't go over cause windows doesn't recognise it) windows 7.
but yeh thats what i would recommend, but pay attention to what people say on 6a also. lidawano is pretty knowledgable when it comes to these things.
hope this helped somewhat

| righto, the case you want is the thermaltake v800a. also try the new pentium i7 out. for graphics go the 9 thoussand geforce series and SLI them ( or you can crossfire with 3). any hdd is good really but buy a few and raid them so you have more space. since your budget is so high i woud also reccomend water cooling. quiter and much much more efficient.
ive built many pc's also give us a yell if ya need anything

| i agree with the raid. good idea. i7 is a good idea if your willing to spend the money on it. although a general quadcore would fine for games and editing. and meh watercooling isn't really needed either but if it fits in your budget go for it.
and sorry i don't have a site frit, muri will.

| sorry fritsticks i was meant to meant to say v8000a not v800a. yeah frit that cpu is excellent. one good site is http://www.pcmarket.com.au/ but if you want 100% assurance with your buy you can buy direct from the manufactorers site (i.e if yuou want asus graphics card buy form asus.com.au etc). another thing you might want to consider is going to the computer fairs that are held regularly... quite cheap there but they dont tolerate and hagling... EDIT: just saw the V9, loks pretty schmick. EDIT 2: check out Antec cases aswell. this one is sick for gaming: http://www.modster-pc.co.nz/shop/images/1200_front_q_lights.jpg | |

ok sweet. it's gone. I only picked that one cause i thought samsung would be good. i'll get WD. I'm also worried about; 1. Missing essential items needed to build the pc. 2. Parts not being compatible.

| for the HDD go the SATA... its the fastest connection. plus the cables are a lot smaller so they dont wreck the aesthetics of you pc.
for your compatibility issue, ill have a look and ill tell you if they are alright... ill repost soon.
