So, who watched the Bledisloe? A decent win no doubt but with heaps of room for improvement.
Hooper was amazing. You forget about Pocock when guys like Hooper and the immortal George Smith are running around.
On an NPC note; BoP lost to Otago Bert and Beau Robinson (angry fella from the Reds) was playing for the Steamers.
I wanna play Hooper and Pocock at 6 and 7 Well i actually wanna play Hooper, Pocock, Gil and Smith at 4,5,6,7 Fucken do it.
I had a blow up with my fuckwit mate about this, I'm a huge Liam Gill fan. How about this. Pocock to hooker, Hooper 7, Gill 6 and Mowem at 8.
Before you laugh at Pocock at hooker, remember the new scrum rules, there's much less engagement, less chance to 'get under' your opponent. You've just got to hope he can throw lineouts!
What about your beloved Stephen Moore? The more of our pilferers on the field, the better!

Anybody watch ABs v Boks? Best test i've seen since Paris in '04. Ranks in top 3 for me, with previously mentioned French Test and Bledisloe Cup match in Sydney '00.

Is it true you fellas are having another crack at a domestic comp? Wouldn't that be like trying to sell contraception to the vatican!?
Should get on your hands and knees, and come begging for a place in the NPC (fuck this ITM Cup BS!). I like the idea of having aussies in the comp and it sure would give us a bigger challenge come Bledisloe.....

You're right in everything you've said, but how would Air New Zealand Cup teams go with travelling costs?
The comp is doomed before it starts, no one has come up with a decent, viable formulae yet. There's talk at the moment with it being like 2uper rugby B's, but I really don't see that working. We tried before about 10 start up club rugby teams playing through winter, no one went to games, no one bought tv rights. It was awful.
My left field solution? A champions league type competition, where the best club rugby sides from each city play each other in a group stage home and away, play Wednesday nights, Thursday nights, Saturday afternoon, filter fringe super rugby players through each side, the problem I forsee with this is travel for amateur players.
My idea is basically popularising club rugby, in a non 18 round, boring home an away schedule. Give channel 10 and fox a deal they can't refuse, say free tv rights for 'premier club rugby' for 2 years with an ARU controlled option/negociating rights for a further paid 2 years. Utilise schools to drum up free advertisement, give kids tickets for nothing in schools, get kids playing and watching rugby.
